Getting Ready ...

I made my first batch of red pepper jelly for the holidays.  It is great on top of goat's cheese or cream cheese, or added to a sandwich.
I'm in charge of appetizers this weekend when the girls go away for Greenery Day.  We head up to a friend's cottage and cut greenery for our Christmas pots.   But is is really all about the eating.  One of the appetizers will be this red pepper jelly on goat's cheese.
RECIPE:
4 red peppers finely chopped in food processer (not pureed)
3/4 cup of white vinegar
1 package of Certo light
3 1/2 cups of white sugar

Add the chopped peppers to a pot with the vinegar and white sugar.
Bring to a full boil and cook for 1 minute.
Remove from burner and add certo, constantly stirring.
Return to burner, bring to a full boil for 1 minute.

Remove pot and pour jelly into waiting sterilized jars and seal with sterilized lids.

Then sit down with a book and a cup of tea and listen as the lids pop to seal!

Burlap

I took down my "Fall" table topper, but needed something to bridge to Christmas.
I had some burlap in my stash, so I made a  burlap runner.  I just ran a tight zigzag stitch around the edges and then frayed the fabric.  Very simple.
Nice, rustic touch against the white linen.

Me? Modern?

I'm very traditional, even in my quilting, but I came across a fabulous quilt  bog The Quilting Edge that completely inspired me to try something modern.

Here is my first "modern" quilt.   I think I embraced the theme and am happy with the result.

Jewellery making

I went to a friend's for dinner last night and we also did a craft.

We made a pendant.  You take the frame and add an epoxy polymer in the cavity and then embed crystals. .... BLING!
Then at the end of the evening Susan brought out a bag of jewellery she had made and said to take a necklace or bracelet and a pair of earrings.   I love party favours, and this is what I chose.
The Green is  deeper than the picture, and they exactly match a pair of green suede shoes I just bought ... how seradipidous.
