Dream Dining Room

I have always thought that Dining Rooms are an incredible waste of real estate.  (Well not always ... I used to love more formality)   But I've evolved.  I currently have a dining room full of beautiful, cherry Queen Anne furniture .... but really how often do I use it?

I saw this room today ... it is Emily Clark's office.

But wouldn't it be a fabulous dining room.

This is exactly how I envision my dining room when I move to a condo.  A wall full of book shelves and a table you can use for dining, crafts, sitting with a book ..... so relaxed. When it's not a dining room, it is a library.   Double duty!    Perfect?

  1. I do love that room, it's so restrained but not boring, love the details!

  3. I agree! Our dining room is casual, but it is really just an overflow spot for larger get togethers. We have too large an extended family for sit down dinners. Easter and Christmas are 12 or more at the least, and up to 35. I love the idea of a wall of bookcases and then the table/office table.

  4. Strangely, I was just thinking about that very thing yesterday. If I could just combine a library and dining room, I think I would be a very happy woman!

  6. Hi Sharon,
I use my dinning room to sew in, since the table is so large and the table faces the TV..so I can watch TV and sew what could be better..I know books behind me..I LOVE your idea.
Have a sweet day and hugs, Elizabeth
