Finally, after years of trying to get the neighbour next door to share the cost of replacing our steps to the backyard it is done.
The original ones were creosote railway ties. They had completely disintegrated and were unsafe to walk on.
They were replaced by 6x6 chamfered pressure treated wood. The top step is a landing of 4 of these 6x6s.

Now it will be easy to take bags of soil, gardening equipment and the lawn mower to the back yard without taking my life in my hands.
