Last year in a tiny store in a little town I found a plate exactly like the ones my Grandmother used. Of course I snapped it up ... and it's in that pile in the basement.
I have a lot of blue and white transfer dishes and I need to hang them up ... here's some inspiration:
from Nester
Love the dimension on this one ... from Casa Sugar
So feminine from Shelter Pop
I love the message on these From Thread Banger
Dramatic from Apartment Therapy
I love how they carried the plates onto the table below; makes a very static display have more interest.
from AntiquePlateWorld
Here is my plate wall.

The only thing is to make sure that you hang them on a wall that isn't beside any "traffic flow" in the house. I love my plate wall, but it does make a rattle noise when anyone walks by or I run the washing machine on the floor above it.
Great minds must think alike, I have a post about plate walls scheduled. I love the image with all of the blue. Putting together a collection is half the fun, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of plates! I like the 2nd and the last displays the best.
ReplyDeleteThose are some of the most beautiful plate displays I have seen - so unique and lovely. I am just starting to collect plates...maybe someday I'll have a beautiful collection of my own. :)
ReplyDeleteI want to hang a few plates, but I never seem to get around to buying plate hanger wire thingies...one day
