This is what my fireplace looked like when I started
Totally different painted out ...
I didn't paint the doors. I was worried about getting into the hinges and track and whether it would gum up and then show wear. I'm pretty happy with it ... though I am debating whether to go back and paint the trim out. I do have a brass log carier and brass utensils, so it does tie in. The special high heat paint went on really easily. Two coats and it left a really nice flat finish. The fireplace wall.
Sharon, that looks great! I think it works fine to leave it part brass.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great Sharon. The brass parts work well especially with your brass accessories.

It looks great! And I agree, leaving the door brass helps to tie in your other brass accessories.
ReplyDeleteNice improvement! I also agree with the other three that it makes sense to leave the brass trim as an "accent."
ReplyDeleteLooks really nice. The black and the brass really suit each other.
ReplyDeleteGarden Sheds Supplied in England, Wales in the UK also our timber sheds are erected FREE. Large range of models.
ReplyDeleteAfter installing a couple of Limestone Fireplace Surrounds in my house, I think I'm pretty clued up on the area. I agree with the other comments. It is fine how it is and compliments your other items.
ReplyDeleteYou used great color there and it really matches the brass as it also gives a great shine and with the right accent too which make the brass look more elegant. Great job Sharon!
