Vintage Sewing Machine Find

Donna (s-i-l)  needed a sewing table for her craft room.   She was going to build something, or look for a cute table but she came across this sewing machine table on Kijiiji.    Perfect ... it is built specifically to be a sewing table and folds up when not in use, so it doesn't take up too much room.  She picked it up yesterday and it is a real treasure.  Just needs a little touchup with stain.
Inside she found this vintage sewing machine.
It is heavy as a boat anchor, with tons of solid brass trim.

It says it is made by the Ocean Sewing Machine Company and it even has a serial number.  We both went on the internet to search, but can't find anything on the company.  It is a mystery.

The machine works, but the cords are a little questionable.   Donna is so enamored, she is going to take it in for a good cleaning and tuneup.

  1. Hi Sharon. In the early 1990's I purchased an Ocean sewing machine at a yard sale in Ontario that looks just like your's only mine was in a carrying case. I have not been able to find any information on it either, but keep trying. Mine has an "S" serial number on it. If you happen to find out anymore details about it, would you mind sending me an email? Thank you.
