I have a short lamp on the chest in my guest room. I've had it elevated on a couple books, but didn't really like the newness of the bindings.
I decided to cover the books with brown kraft paper. I haven't done this since I was in Grade 1 ... easy 50 years ago (OMG ... really?)
It produced a much better look.

Sometimes I use pretty scrapbook paper that matches the decor of the room. :)
