Have you started your Christmas Shopping?

I was in the fabric store for something else entirely (and didn't get what I went in for); and they had their Christmas fabric on sale.   So I loaded up and thought I would get a start by making some runners.

Simple .... strips of Christmas fabrics

Three hostess gifts made.    I bet I'm the first one with Christmas shopping started!!!

  1. Hi Sharon,
Wow, I think you are the first one to have Christmas gifts started for 2011...I love your runners!
Also I love the beachy look of the wall board in the bedroom photo you showed us. I have been wanting it in my bedroom, I love all the crown moldings and wall boards. To me it brings the room to life.
Have a sweet day and hugs, Elizabeth

  3. Hi - I am new to quilting. Could you explain how you did that table runner?

    Thanks - Judy

P.S. I read your blog everyday and love it. Lots of inspiration.

  4. Dear Anonymous ... you didn't leave me an e-mail to respond ...
I just cut and sewed strips of christmas fabrics til I got the length I wanted ... then cut into three lengthwise. I have plaid backing. I cut to the same size and then sewed one sideo f the striped fabric to one side of the plaid.. Then I cut a piece of red fabric 14 inches long and the width of the front and back and sewed on both ends. Then I sewed the other three sides (when I was doing the red, I sewed in a V and cut off the extra) ... leaving a 3 inch opening. Turned the runner right side out, pressed and did a line of stitching all around the runner in red.
If you can't understand my instructions, leave me your e-mail address and I'll make some diagrams and send them to you.
    Thanks for visiting.

  7. You are so good getting such a headstart on next Christmas. I'm still "reeling" from the sewing I did last Christmas, LOL.

  8. Well, You are doing pretty good to beat me. I usually start early but not this year. I have so many Christmas things that I am now making Christmas for my kids. But haven't started yet.
