Adding Flagstone

My favourite place in the garden is my park bench.   It is in the sun in the early morning and is a wonderful place to drink that first cup of tea.
My garden is maturing and I wanted to move the bench about a foot out, so I had to add some more flagstone.

 

Today was the perfect day to do this.  Sunny but cool.

Nicely expanded.   Now I have to focus on my lawn.   It was totally crab grass by the end of last summer, so I have sprayed and killed it all and need to put down soil and grass seed.   It's nice to be back out with my hands in dirt!

Time for a Summer Home

One of my favourite shows this season is "Summer Home" on HGTV with Samantha Pym.    I love her designs .... fresh, but classic.    And who doesn't love a cottage. Last night's episode was one of the best:

Wouldn't it be nice to spend a weekend at this cottage?

Sewing like a Crazed Person

You would think with the lovely weather we have had recently that I would be outside.   But it is a little too early here to garden.   Things are just peeking out of the dirt and I don't want to disturb anything before it shows itself!

So I'm been sewing like mad.    I'm working on two quilts.
A Christmas one:

And a bow tie quilt.    It is made up with little bowtie blocks:

I only have about a quarter of the blocks I need for each quilt, but I couldn't resist sewing some together to give me an idea what the quilts would look like when finished.

Obviously, I'm going through a "Red" period.

Happy Easter

I had the family over for Easter on Good Friday.

Allison made hot cross buns.
We had a fabulous family get together ... everyone talking at once and the decibel level ever climbing.

Closet Dreams

My Sister-in-law, Donna, called on Sunday.   She was tearing her closet apart trying to get it more organized and useful.   She had high hopes and great plans.     She just sent me this note which indicates exactly where she is on implementing that plan.

She said ... "This is what I want"

"But this is closer to what I have."

Don't we all feel like that in the middle of a project?
