The Stripper

I am stripping the little kitchen table that was my Mom and Dad's when they were first married in 1949..
My Mother had given it to my cousin when they got married 35 years ago, but at a family get together my cousin mentioned it had been sitting in their garage for years and she was going to get rid of it.   Of course, I couldn't let that happen (like I need more furniture!!!) So one day I came home and found the table in pieces on my front porch.

I finally started stripping it this weekend.   Four layers of paint so far.
Years ago I saved the matching china cabinet from the basement when Mom moved to an apartment (my Dad had stored tools in it).    I refinished it and use it in my office/craft room.  Hope the table turns out aswell.

Fence Planter

My s-i-l, Donna, had some extra fence sections just leaning agianst the house.  Never one to just leave things alone.   She took this:
and made this:
Too cute!   Would work with pallets too.

My Yard Sale Finds

At the yard sale I had had with friends last week, we were all determined not to take anything back into the house.

I only made two exceptions.   I traded a purse I had in the sale for a picture Ann was selling.  A lovely ink sketch of Prague.
and the other was a lamp which I traded Donna for a picture I was selling.
Both are now set up at home.   Great trades!!!

Yard Sale

My sister-in-law, Donna,  her friend, Ann, and I had a yard sale on the weekend.  We had torrential rain on Friday night while we were putting up signs, but Saturday morning it was just overcast and turned out to be a great morning for a sale.

My niece (the pastry chef) made cupcakes and totally cleaned up!!
The sale made a nice dent in all the stuff I have in the basement, I made a bit of money and had a lot of fun.

Any leftovers we packed up and took to the Salvation Army.   We all agreed, nothing that came out of the house was going back in.
