Found on a Walk

It pays to try to be healthy!
I was out on a  walk and noticed that a neighbour had cut down a tree ... and conveniently cut it in short lengths.  When I got home, I jumped in the car and picked up a section for my front porch.

Nice rustic touch.

Auxiliary Storage

I have very tiny counter space in my bathroom.

and I never have anywhere to put my hairdryer.  It always ends up on the toilet tank.  Not the safest place in the world.

Today I picked up a wire, kitchen cabinet organizer at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

 

and added it to the side of the cabinet.  Perfect for holding the hair dryer, where it won't crash to the floor. 

 

Great auxiliary storage.

 

Custom Headboard

My Brother and Sister in law recently re-did their master bedroom.

They painted the walls a beautiful bird's egg blue and added a feature wall behind the bed in a chocolate brown.

They originally planned to use an old door as a headboard, but my brother is a little obsessed with symmetry and they couldn't find one with equal panels.    So ... Bruce made one.   He is an amazing finish carpenter and can build anything.

Using MDF, he added panels.

Routed out the inside edges

then multiple coats of paint and sanding ... and VOILA

 My sister in law, Donna, made all the pillows, and the pictures are from a recent trip to London and Paris that they had printed on canvas.  Beautiful and truly personalized.
