OK, Maybe the back lawn isn't growing ...

But the front bed is starting to look good.

View through my steaky window (!)
PS ... I received a quote from a lawn company to lay sod in my back yard ... about a 10x12 space.   Do they not think people know how much sod is ... about $2.99 a strip!   Really I could have sodded the whole neighbourhood for the quote.   I'm looking for an alternate, maybe just have the sod delivered and lay it myself.   But no one wants to deliver to the back yard, and I can't lift and carry it back (whine) .... ahhhh problem for another day.

In pursuit of the perfect lawn

My lawn last year was completely crab grass.  Not a blade of nice grass.
I killed it all off this spring and started over.   Added nice soil.  And then seeded.  With the kind of seed that the commericial assures me will grow on concrete! (Canada Green)
Unfortunately I should have grown it on concrete!   Only about 100 blades of nice grass have appeared in 14 days ... but thousands of blades of crab grass have appeared.

I have a lawn person coming tomorrow to give me a quote on sod.   I am ready for some instant gratification.

Enjoy!

A bit of a hitch!!

There will be a slight delay in any new post.   I just got a new Thinkpad, and I can't find the slot for my picture card!  Nothing seems to fit.

Boy am I technical!
PS ... Got it figured out ... I'm now back in business.   That was just a frustration post!!

Island .... Kitchen or Tropical?

I finished the island I am making for my friend...and I'm pretty satisfied with the result.
It was sitting in my kitchen, waiting for her to come over and be surprised.
I mostly used wood that I already had.   Only purchasing 2x4s for the legs, the pine for the top and misc screws, nails and clips.

I once again used part of a shelving unit for the bottom shelf. and just built around it.

I put tack strips along the inner top so I could screw the pine top on without visible screws
 Another completed carpentry project!

PS.   Pat was over for dinner and I gave her the island.   Now we just have to figure how to get it to her house.   She has a very TINY trunk!
