Let them eat cake ...

My Niece, Allison, a pastry chef in training, created this shower cake for a friend.

Red velvet cake with Cream cheese icing.   I especially love how she put it on the frilled cake stand.  YUM!

Jewllery Storage

My sister-in-law really thinks out of the box.   She was in Home Depot recently and found this tile edging. Does this make you think "earring storage"? ... it did her.

I've now made jewellery storage on the back of my bedroom door.   My door already had 3 square moulding boxes on the front and back.    On the middle box, I adhered cork tile, added cup hooks along the top and an additional piece of trim for more cup hooks.

For the top box, I glued a piece of trim to the tile edge, nailed it to the existing trim ... and voila!
Perfect for earrings.

DIY??

I confess ... the most arduous DIY going on here is changing the hose on the dryer!

Is it the hot weather? ... or am I just uninspired?
