Kitchen Envy

My friend, Denise, just closed on a new house.   She isn't moving in for a couple weeks as she is having hardwood put in  the dining room and living room, a backsplash in the kitchen, all new light fixtures throughout and a number of other things done beforehand, but we drove two car loads of items up today.

Her kitchen opens into the dining room ... .with a beautiful island between.
I just grabbed this picture as I was heading out  ... but the other end has the fridge, a humungous pantry and more beautiful quartz counter tops.   There are so many cupboards I can't imagine her filling them all.

Ahhh .... kitchen envy!

Impatient

We finally had two days together where the sun shined!   I was at the garden centre at 8:00 on Saturday to avoid the rush and got all my annuals.

Now I'm impatient for the impatience to spread, and the geraniums and hanging vines to grow.

Lilacs

My French Lilac is out in bloom.
It's been raining here for the past week and it is expected to continue for another week.   As there is such a short window of opportunity to enjoy lilacs, when the rain held off this morning I brought in some stems for my desk while I work from home today.

Gorgeous fragrence is filling the office.   What a lovely mid-week treat.
Don't you wish they had "scratch and sniff" on the internet?

In just a week ...

Finally the weather has turned nice, and in just a week the buds on the trees have started to turn to leaves.

I'll soon be sitting in the shade of this tree with a cup of tea!
