I'm Sewing Again

I love the quilt I have on the end of my bed.   It is all pale, serene greens.

But I want something with deeper, warmer colours for the winter.  Here's the new palette:

Now I just have to get sewing.....

The Taping of the Steven and Chris Show ... and free tickets!!

What a great day.   My sister-in-law, Donna, and I went to the taping of the Steven and Chris show.

We met up with some fellow bloggers, Kerry (First Time Fancy) and her Mom, Brittany (Artistically connected), Jen (JenSelk.com) and Shannon (What's Up Whimsy) for breakfast first.

Then we headed over to the CBC for the taping where we met a whole audience full of bloggers.

It was so nice to meet some of the people whose blogs I follow.   I was thrilled to meet Chris from Just Beachy and Jen from Rambling Renovators.   I LOVE both their blogs.

The set was great ... we practiced our applause levels and then ....

... the guys did their thing ... some DIY, an interview with Jenny McCarthy and a cooking slot with Rodney Bowers from the Rosebud Cafe who prepared pulled pork.

They provided lunch (Rodney's pulled pork) and then we had a Question and Answer session.   Steven and Chris seemed very open and it was really interesting. ...

Then everyone had photo op with the guys.

What a great day.

Up on the Roof ...

I went out today to rake leaves, and a package had been dropped off for me.

Obviously, my new roof is emminent!

Funny how you don't notice things like a roof, but when you do, it is an immediate need.

Tidying up the Laundry Room

My Laundry Room will never be really attractive.   It is the only unfinished space in the house, I'm not going to have the walls done, but I did want it to be a little nicer when I do the laundry.

I got some letters and made a sign:

Skirted the laundry tub in some red fabric:

And now at least it is a little prettier!

Chris and Steven Show

I just received an invitation "based on the content of my blog".   Who knew anyone out there was actually reading it!!!

I've been invited to a taping of the Steven and Chris show on October 19, followed by a lunch and a Q&A session with them.   For those who don't know, they used to have a program called "Designer Guys" ... and now have this new decorating show.   Woo hoo .. I can hardly wait.   I'm taking my sister-in-law, Donna.  Should be a fun day.

Upate:   Vitania at Verdigris Vie who was organizing a Toronto Design Blogger meet up supplied all our names to the producers.   It will be nice to meet some of my local Toronto DIY bloggers .

Front Door Welcome

I finallly finished the front door.    I started painting at the beginning of summer, but with the temperatures and humidity, I left it til September to finish.

I am so glad that I removed the screen door ... such an eyesore!

SO much brighter.  A lovely cream.
