The love seat is back from the Upholsterer's

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I purchased a couple new chairs for my living room, and had a small chair and ottoman recovered.   With the size of the new furniture my loveseat appeared very low.

Luckily, I had had the loveseat recovered a couple years ago and had some fabric left over (sometimes it pays to be a hoarder!), so I sent it off to have higher legs and a new skirt added to bring it to the proper height.

Now the room is complete.

The living room adjoins the dining room which I didn't make any changes to.

I'm happy with the room!

Weekend Project - Laundry Sign

The only room in my house that isn't finished is my laundry/furnace room.  Not a room that says 'clean and fresh'!

I think maybe a "Laundry" sign might perk it up .... so that's my weekend project.

I hate showing a before of the room ....but surely, it can only get better ???

Vacation is winding down ...

I don't have much crossed off my to do list.   I have two days left of vaction, so I'm scrambling to cross off a few more.

 

Went to Buffalo with my sister-in-law, Donna.   We had a great time shopping ... mostly crafts, a punch, paper, cutter, quilt batting; but I did get a skirt and shoes.  I also got a lamp at the Christmas Tree store that I am going to paint for my guest room.

Tuesday we had a great fondue dinner at the "Melting Pot" at the Galleria.   

After Buffalo, I had a day to re-group and then spent Friday with a friend ... we went to an art show in Oshawa in the morning, and then spent the afternoon cleaning out her dining room .  Picture the show "Hoarder"!!!!

Just today to rest up then back to work .....

Red Pepper Jelly

Update on vacation ..... I have had the windows cleaned (I can see ... I can see!) spray painted the front light black to freshen it up, had a friend over for an afternoon of tea and catch up, my love seat has finally gone to the upholsterers to have the skirt lengthened,  bought some jeans and black pants for fall, and got two boxes of junk out of the basement for a church bazaar and donated an old coffee table and brass chandelier to a friend.   Yeah ... more space!

Yesterday I went to Niagara on the Lake to visit friends who run a B&B.

Four of  us go down, have lunch and sightsee then head to the Aberdeen Inn where Val and Keith BBQ'd for us.   Fabulous friends, great weather ... good day!!!

Tonight, I made Red Pepper Jelly with peppers I got at a Niagara fruit stand.

VOILA ....

Finally ... Vacation

I am going to be on vacation for the next TWO weeks ... at Verandah Beach!!!

Even though I am going to be around, I have tons planned ... lunch with the girls a couple days, going to Niagara on the Lake to visit a friend who owns a B&B, going shopping with my sister-in-law, Donna, in Buffalo for a couple days.   I can hardly wait to visit all the stores the US blogs mention.  We already have the GPS set for Holly Lobby, TJ Maxx and Joann's Fabrics/Crafts.

I also have a list of to do's:

1.  Have the windows and gutters clearned ... this is number one because  I  already have the guy lined up to come, so I can practically cross it off my list.

2.  Put the last coat of paint on the guest room closet doors.

3.  Finish painting the front door and door to the garage ... this has been dragging on all summer because of the humidity.

4.  Spray paint the front light black ... to freshen it up.

5.  Tidy up basement ... this has been on my list since I moved into this house 3 years ago .... but I do have good intentions ... I just never get to end of job on this one.

6.  Shop for fall clothes.

I'm sure there are more things ... but I only have so much time!!
